This is my first visit to this place. Florence park is overshadowed by Cutteslow Park but I must say it is great park and should be in one of the top five parks of Oxford.
The place is HUGE. There are three different children’s play areas so far away from each other that you can easily miss one or the other. We started off with the play area next to the cafe. The cafe itself is pretty good, served good food and also had some play equipment (pirate boat with musical stuff) next to the sitting area. The park is just next to it. It is enclosed in a fence and has a big sand pit, swings, obstacle course/long runway, round about, spinning bucket, sit in sea saw, some climbing structures and a couple of slides. We spent most of our time here and almost didn’t go anywhere else but I am glad we did
There is also a miniature golf course, high fly trapeze, and five tennis courts (book tennis courts online) next to the play area (charges apply). As you move deeper inside the park, you will come across another play area, with a pretty cool obstacle course, under the shade of trees, giving it a nice rustic feel. A bit further on is another playground, with zip wire, swings, table tennis table, basketball net and a big climbing frame. The surrounding lush green fields with beautiful flower beds and nice paths for walking/cycling/jogging.
It is actually a very pretty place and has something for everyone, segregated into different play areas. While it is very efficient keeping the crowds apart, it may be tricky for parents of different age groups who want to do different things, so you will have to find a way round it but you can make a very nice day out here
