We had a stroll through Hethe village after visiting the park (please see our review HERE).
We had spent a lot of energy in the park but the village deserves another visit just for a long leisurely walk. In our 15-20 minutes, we came across everything you would hope for- lots n lots of greenery, many streams, stoney bridges, peasants, fields and fields of sheep, cows and calves and also horses..! So picturesque.. so serene.. so peaceful
We just parked by roadside, ventured into one of the marked footpath and went with the flow. When I came back and googled it, there is actually a named Hethe walk from the Muddy Duck pub to Cottisford and Shelswell Park through open countryside and woodland. Muddy Duck (a pub with reputation in the area) has put some circular walks up on its website. You could print one off, stride off after ordering your food (when pub re-opens) and come back in time for your order.
Sounds amazing and we will definitely be trying it once the lockdown eases.. something to look forward to!
