Rutten Lane Park in Yarnton provides a well equipped children’s play area and pitches for Netball, football and Basketball. The play area is seperated by hedges from the road and has a large field on the other side. It has some wood chips and rubber matting underneath some of the equipment.
The play area boasts an array of colorful and engaging equipment, immediately attracting children as they enter. Two climbing frames take center stage, each offering a vibrant and exciting experience. The main frame, designed for children aged 3-4 and above, impressed us with its variety of features. From a challenging climbing wall to chain ropes, a wobble bridge, a tunnel, monkey bars, and two slides, it had something for every adventurous little one. For the toddlers, there is a smaller frame equipped as well as springers, swings, and an interactive panel, ensuring that kids of all ages have a delightful playtime.
One of the highlights of the park is the arrangement of six tire swings in a hexagonal pattern. This setup provides a perfect spot for children to sit, chat, and swing together, fostering social interactions and laughter. The exhilarating zip line added an extra dose of excitement to the play area,.
There are two small hillocks, one of which had the mounted narrowest slide ever. A cool bridge connected the hillocks, under which we played “billy goat gruff”. The climbing rock on the other side proved to be a favorite. Ay eventually managed to get to the top of it with some practise. As we are currently in our “climbing” phase, we have no doubt that we will be frequent visitors to this enjoyable park.
Overall, it is a really good park, which caters to children of all ages. Apart from the play equipment, the park boasted ample green spaces for kids to run around and enjoy ball games. There was a large family enjoying picnic on the ground
