Emberton country park in Milton Keynes has it all and for everyone- – highly recommended !!
I parked my car near the entrance car park but I later saw people with their cars inside parked on grass near the lake/second play area, so it’s something you could do but we enjoyed our walk in the habitat trail and around the little lakes, so see what suits you better
As you enter, there is some exercising equipment for adults on the left and your first play area on the right, with a big sandpit with diggers and also a gravel pit (with pulleys/climbing structure etc) which I have never seen before and one of the pulleys was broken but Ay really enjoyed it. There are lots of picnic benches around, so you could sit while your kids play. There is a small spiral fort like wall for imaginative play
From here you could go on the Habitat trails on your right (with little ponds on the way), or keep walking on the road to come across the second play area on the left. We did trails first and then came to the play area
The pirate boat will catch your attention first and then the two big slides (one spiral tunnel and other vertical) atop a little hillock under the trees. To het to the slide, you could go via the boardwalk or you can climb the hill itself, which made it more fun. There’s another smaller slide as well, swings, Trampoline, accessible roundabout, willow tunnel and a few other bits. On the side are also some ruins for climbing.
If you keep following the road around, you’ll come to another play area. There’s yet another interesting slide with a wooden structure, wobbly bridge atop a little hill with tunnel underneath and a climbing pyramid.
From here, we kept walking along the lake, feeding the duck/swans and admiring the views. It is a circular walk, and not too long, so doable with little kids, especially as you can take pit stops along the way. There were a lot of people with reclining chairs just enjoying the view and sunbathing
You can easily spend half/even full day here but we dashed to the splash area at Willen lake (~15min drive) as it was a very hot day
