People’s Park is situated in Banbury and act as a hub for local community events. Although the play area is small, the green space around it is pleasant and well maintained with colourful formal flower beds (including a pretty rose garden), has some sculptures and a small Aviary with little birds like budgies and cockatoo’s. It must be a lovely place to wander around in spring with all the flowers blooming. There are plenty of benches around the park to allow people to sit down as their kids play has a go at ball games.
There is a war memorial to commemorate those who gave their lives during the wars. There was a crown shaped flower bed memorial for the queen too when we visited but I am not sure if it is a permanent feature.
The playground is good for young children but there is not much for older kids. The play area is small with climbing frame for younger children / toddlers, swings, springer, revolving disc, slide, sit in sea saw, obstacle course, slide and some outdoor exercising equipment. There are basketball and tennis courts, in addition to the outdoor exercising equipment which Ay loves to play on these days.
