Situated near the whitelands sports centre (on the opposite side of entrance- at the far end of the football pitches), Whitelands farm play area, Kingsmere, Bicester is suitable for young children but is not the best for toddlers.
Toddlers may enjoy the swings (if confident enough to do the big swings as none with baby seats available) and crawl through the tunnels. The triangular climbing frame with slide is quite high for them and climbing it up will require a lot of skills but of course you can just pick them up and slide them down. In the past, we have tried climbing it the wrong way up too when no one is around. The climbing structure also has a climbing wall and ropes, which is good fun now. We tried this place first when A was about 2 and didn’t go back for a while, but now it is part of our loop around the sports centre as we love the big climbing pyramid but it is still not our most favourite park (if I am honest). There is the basketball court and zip wire as well.
So what is our loop?? With A on his bike, we start at Whitelands Farm sports centre , walking towards this Kingsmere park play area then circling to Alchester Park Play area before returning back toward whiteland farm play area, before getting back either on the main track or through the grass field to return to the sports centre- the whole loop is about 2-2.5 miles, which is interrupted with pit breaks in the park (occasionally a picnic) and we really enjoy it. Sometimes we also take a detour to the lake
