It is a lovely walk, great for dogs, kids and joggers alike, which is pram and wheelchair accessible but cycling is NOT permitted at any time around the St. James’ Lake site, as per the council website. There are tree trunks on the ground, asking to be climbed on and we spotted some beautiful fairydoors on the trees as well
The lake has ducks, geese and swans, though there is a notice NOT to feed them bread. Some parts of the walk, if you steeered away from the main paths, were quite muddy with water overflowing from the lake in some areas, so would recommend wellies and waterproofs.
On the way in, there is a nice looking slide but it is in someones private garden, so prepare yourself for the “discussion” as to why you can not go on it 😩
There is also a selection of outdoor gym equipment suitable for children and adults over 14 years. There is also an active fishing club (the Brackley & District Angling Club) operating at the lake, and permits are available locally, if you are into things like these.
