Harwell village Jubilee playground is awesome!! We had the most brilliant time.
The play area is visible from the main road. I thought that is it, so I just parked our car in one of the parking spaces down the road, came out of the car but then couldn’t find the entrance to the park as it was fenced in all directions. So, we sat back in the car, turned around the corner on Westfield, towards the school, to find a dedicated car park there. There is a huge field with the play area accessible behind the building.
On the top of the hill was a rope climbing structure for older children. There were other hillocks on the side and a wobbly bridge to go from one to another and two tunnels under another hillock. The whole set up is just ideal for running around and screaming happily at the top of your voices. We played hide n seek here for a long time after the other family left and we were on our own in this awesome place.
In addition, there are swings, springers and small spinning bucket for toddlers as well as another climbing structure with a more conventional slide. A zipwire and some other bits were outside the main fenced playground, which looked like outdoor fitness equipment but may well be an extension of the play area, I couldn’t decide for sure.
Across the vast green field at the far end, there were more small mounds for climbing and rolling down.
