We went to the Upside Down House located in Oak Court near one of the entrances of Midsummer Place shopping centre in Milton Keynes, in November 2021, but for some reason, I just never got around to posting about it.
The distinctive seven metre high pink house sits on its head and has a unique, fully furnished interior with real life-sized furniture. There are two floors – downstairs is an entry corridor which has some really nice photos in the gallery, so have a look for some inspiration. There is a small child nursery in front and then a bathroom to the left, where we had a lot of fun. Then you go up the spiral stairs to the second floor which has a kitchen/ diner, bedroom and some other bits.
Just a little warning, you may feel dizzy and nauseous, (a bit like being on a boat) especially for the first couple of minutes as the floors are slightly slanted to make it work but you quickly adjust to it.
Overall, it is a great day out for the family to take some extra ordinary photos. You can walk on the ceiling, go up and downstairs, do handstands on the bed, have one leg up, be spider man, pretend reaching out for furniture or just be as creative as you want.
It does not take long, probably about 20-30 minutes in total, for that lovely shot you want but it is quirky and fun. You will come out laughing out loud! Combine it with other attractions in MK or just shopping in the centre:mk which has 1000’s of brands under one roof.
Tickets to visit the Upside Down House cost £5 per person – under 3s go free – and can be booked online at www.upsidedownhouse.co.uk.If you think something needs updating on this post, please contact us HERE
